Challenge Accepted
Everyday sits at our historic intersection of a devastating global pandemic, online disinformation campaigns that put democracies in peril while destroying trust and social harmony, wage theft and historic wealth inequality, a soaring youth mental health crisis, an epidemic of loneliness, and preventable climate change disasters. My team’s response to these urgent calls to action is simple: Challenge Accepted.
Our digital native youth - Gen Z and Alphas - are the most vulnerable (see Meta whistleblower report). Despite all of this negativity surrounding them while lacking democratic agency to change it, they consistently demonstrate their potential to become our next Greatest Generations. In order to overcome their justified dwindling hope, anxiety, and depression, they need the best possible spaces and tools to solve problems together. They need an exciting and inspiring community that provides much more than just an app they love. They need life skills and meaningful relationships that last a lifetime. And most importantly, they deserve a seat at the table to democratically choose the community programs and technology that are built while having the opportunity to earn income from their fierce acts of social responsibility.
Our focus on building Verified Slow Tech is codified in our bylaws, inspired by international cooperative 7 Principles, our Core Values, and Internet Safety Labs standards. Our dedication to ending our epidemic of loneliness is unwavering because we know we’ll have a major impact on our other public health emergencies - anxiety and depression.
We’re radically attempting to win. We’ve done big things in 2024. We’re going far with you in 2025, positively together.
